When Saturday Comes
I wrote an article for the first of the “When Saturday Comes” series of compilations of new football writing, “Always Next Year” in 1999. The article was used in the magazine itself to promote the book.
I contributed pieces to When Saturday Comes the Half Decent Football Book
I have also written a series of articles and letters for the main WSC magazine itself, which are available on the website:
- November 2011, when Jim Gannon returned for his second spell as County manager.
- An article about County’s (non-existent) rivals, written in May 2003
- A piece written when Carlton Palmer took over as manager in January 2002
- A piece written about the Man-Stock debacle in February 2001
As well as these pieces for the magazine, I wrote a few articles for the website:
- One of a series of pieces about notable shirts, in January 2010
- A story about an unmoving car, from August 2009
And some letters that were printed in the magazine itself
The Independent
I wrote two articles for the Independent newspaper in 1997 and 1998:
The first, written around the time of the 1996-97 League Cup run
The second, written at the end of the following season, as we finished in our highest ever position
Survival of the Fattest
I contributed a number of pieces for the annual football writing compilation “Survival of the Fattest“.
